I would just like to thank everyone for turning up to either help us run the event, club mates, friends, family all the companies that came along to the riders village, all the Leisure Centre staff, the local police and council for letting us put on the event and to all the riders who took part.

The weather was glorious, it was a great day to be out on a bike riding a sportive.

Certificates

Anybody who didn't pick up a certificate, if you send me a A4 self addressed envelope I can pop one in the post to you. All you need to do is fill in your name, route distance, time and which standard you reached.

Our next event is Jodrell Bank Classic Cyclosportive in three weeks time.

Cheshire Mini Sportive

Welcome to the Cheshire Mini Sportive (last year known as NW Winter Sportive). This year we have two great routes 30 miles and 60 miles around the Cheshire Plains. Both routes have been designed by experienced local club cyclists and will ease you into the new season. Both routes are relatively flat with just a few bumps in them to keep it interesting Starting off once again at the Poynton Leisure Centre the riders will head off round the Cheshire plains. There are no big climbs, most of the route is relatively flat or are on undulating roads.
The weather in Cheshire is relatively mild compared to the rest of the North West at this time of year being protected by the Welsh hills in the West and the Pennine hills on the East.
You do not need to be in a cycling club to enter the event. You just need to be fit enough to get round. We have three routes to suit all abilities. Have a road worthy bicycle (road, hybrid or mountain bike) and a helmet.
The event is insured  by Cyclosure one of the countries leading cycle event insurers. We have support vehicles around the course with friendly event crew who are there to help.
Riders are set off in small groups, your number is scanned at the start and at the finish, times are published on the website on the Monday following the event.

We are planning to take a couple of Minibus's which will pick riders and bikes up from the Manchester Velodrome, we will travel down on the Thursday. On Friday morning we will go for a spin on the bikes to get the travelling out of them and pick up our numbers from registration. There should also be time to visit the Cycling Museum and cafe in Oudenaarde. Next day we tackle the event. We are planning to do the 140km event which starts and finishes in Oudenaarde.  On the Sunday we will watch the Pro race and on the Monday travel back to the UK. We should get back to Manchester about teatime. Full details will be announced shortly.

Entries are now open for the Tour of Flanders link below. Anyone interested in joining us on the trip needs to get in touch to book a seat on the bus.
